STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) – A Missouri man is being sentenced today for giving a roommate some Xanax shortly before the man died at a Stevens Point motel in June.
Philip Burke is also accused of selling the prescription painkiller to other co-workers at the Blue Top Motel.
Burke found Gary Loar not breathing in the room they shared June 18th. Loar was later pronounced dead.
Court documents allege a co-defendant, Heather Reuterskiold, gave Loar one of her methadone pills to calm an upset stomach the night before he died.
Reuterskiold is due in court for a pre-trial hearing next week.
