WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – Wausau’s unemployment rate remained the same in November, according to new figures released by the state workforce development department today.
The unemployment rate was 8 percent, the same as it was in October.
The local report showed the metro area added more retail jobs ahead of the holiday shopping season. But the manufacturing and construction industries suffered minor job losses as did professional services and the leisure and hospitality industry.
Jobless rates increased in six other metro areas around the state, stayed the same in three and decreased in two.
Madison had the lowest rate at 5.5 percent. Janesville had the highest rate at 10.9 percent.
