WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – The Department of Corrections is alerting Wausau area residents that a sex offender will be released into the community today.
Duwayne Boushack received a parole grant to be released early from a 35 year prison sentence for burglary and at least two counts of sexual assault. In 1992, Boushack was convicted of breaking into several homes and molesting women inside, forcing another woman into the woods by threatening her with a weapon, and a laundry list of other crimes that were read into his sentence.
Boushack will be released this morning to corrections agents in Marathon County, and will be living in a halfway house near the courthouse.
Corrections supervisor Mike Williams says the parole board believes Boushack is unlikely to re-offend, but that they will be keeping him on electronic monitoring, and keeping him to a strict schedule. He will be restricted from areas where people congregate like schools and parks, and have to report to the probation office.
His picture and address will be made available online from the department of corrections website and the sex offender registry.
