RIB MOUNTAIN, Wis. (WSAU) – A Minnesota man wanted for stabbing his wife and leaving her for dead late last night was arrested in Rib Mountain early this morning.
Thirty-four-year-old Yer Thao will appear in court Wednesday as prosecutors begin the process of extraditing him to Minnesota.
Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, police suspect Thao stabbed his wife at their home just before midnight. She is recovering from non-life threatening injuries at a Twin Cities hospital.
“He probably left her for dead,” Brooklyn Center police Commander Mike Reynolds said.
Reynolds said police alerted authorities in Wausau that Thao was headed this way.
A Marathon County sheriff’s deputy saw and stopped Thao’s vehicle about 3 a.m.
