WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) A long-talked-about traffic pattern change in downtown Wausau is being delayed. The city has been considering reversing the flow of traffic on 3rd Street. It currently flows northbound, away from downtown. The city had been considering a change to southbound traffic. Several downtown business leaders appeared at the city council meeting last night, saying they're concerned that the construction and renovation work to the street would be bad for business in the short term. The city had considered repaving part of the street and doing some of the landscaping work on the 400 block as part of the change-over. The project is on hold now, after being sent back to the capital improvements and parking and traffic committees.
