WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) The Wausau School District finalized its budget and tax rate at last night's annual meeting.
School taxes will rise by about 4-million dollars because of less state aid. The district was facing less funding because of state budget cuts and because of declining enrollment.
The district also got word of the state aid reductions after the cut-off date for laying off school staff.
School taxes on a 100-thousand dollar home will rise from 927-dollars to 1,038-dollars.
