STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) – The Stevens Point Fire and Police commission is looking for your input on how the department has been doing and what they could improve.
The committee voted last week to move forward with a $6,000 dollar phone survey that will be conducted by the UWSP community research center.
Commissioner Dave Schlice says the commission really wants to take a look at how the emergency services in the city are doing ahead of a proposed merger of departments into a Public Safety department. He notes the merger won't affect how service to residents is conducted but will hopefully improve how the department runs at an organizational level.
The surveys will be conducted by phone over the course of several weeks. The Commission is finalizing the questions they'd like to ask residents, and hopes to have the survey ready by November.
