WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) By the end of today, the Wausau Board of Education will have interviewed all three of its superintendent candidates. The last to be interviewed is Dr. Steven Patz from the Franklin School District. He'll meet local residents during a question and answer session at the Longfellow Administration Building tonight at 7-45.
Yesterday residents heard from Dr. Kathleen Williams, former superintendent of the East Maine 63 school district in Illinois. It covers several communities in the Chicago suburbs of Cook County. The other candidate is Dr. Mike Richie, from the Northland Pines school district based in Eagle River.
The school board could name a finalist as early as August 8th.
Wausau needs to replace Steve Murley, who left the area to become the new superintendent in Iowa City, Iowa.
Editors note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly listed the order that the three finalists were interviewed. A corrected version is posted above. We apologize for the error.
