WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) Wausau West High School will start the fall sports season with an interim athletic director. Dan Hein, who had coached the wrestling team for 33 years before retiring, will be athletic director until a permanent replacement is named.

Hein takes over for Pam Huston, who left the Wausau School District to become A-D at D.C. Everest Senior High School.

Hein also works as a phys ed teacher at Wausau West. He will temporarily step down from that position. There's no formal timetable for naming a permanent athletic director.

The Wausau School Board did not make an announcement about hiring a new school superintendent last night. They will not vote on the hiring of Dr. Kathleen Williams, their preferred choice, until an agreement is reached on a contract and salary.
