Last night at Ford Field, a crazy 4th-and-20 conversion led to a 33-yard touchdown catch for Miami-Ohio with 33 seconds remaining, as the RedHawks snuck past the 24th-ranked Northern Illinois Huskies, 26-21 in the Mid-American Conference Championship game.
It’s Miami-Ohio’s first MAC championship title since 2003.
The final BCS standings are nearly upon us, and the two programs which have dominated the rankings over the last several weeks are in action today trying to lock up a spot in the national championship game.
Auburn, which sits in the top spot, can wrap up a perfect 13-0 season with the Tigers going up against South Carolina in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta. Behind the Tigers is 11-0 Oregon, which can also guarantee a trip to Glendale, Arizona on January 10th with a victory at Oregon State. The records usually go out the window when the in-state rivals take the field for the affectionately named "Civil War," but the visiting Ducks are the heavy favorites.
