WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) Fire crews and law enforcement personnel were still on hand early this morning at 516  Chicago Ave on Wausau's east side after several explosions and a fire at the property. Wausau fire officials are calling the blaze "suspicious" The Wausau Fire Department responded around 10:20 Friday night after a witness heard several explosions and noticed the blaze.

Wausau Fire Chief Gary Buchberger said there were several explosions while firefighters were in the house and they evacuated for a time. There is no word at this time what caused the explosions or fire. No one was home at the time of the blaze.
