ONALASKA, Wis. (WTAQ) - A La Crosse area teen has been expelled for taking a gun to school that he wanted to show off to his friends.

The Onalaska School Board removed the 15-year-old boy, and told him not to return until he’s 21. It will be up to the boy’s family to figure out his future schooling.

He was arrested after officials at Onalaska High School found a handgun and ammunition in his backpack on December 3rd. That caused the school to go into a lockdown for an hour-and-a-half, as a police dog searched the grounds.

Police investigators believe the youngster had no intent to hurt anyone.
