RIB MOUNTAIN, Wis (WSAU) There was a fatal vehicle fire in Rib Mountain early Sunday morning. The victim is identified as 38-year-old Jason Sandberg.

Police investigators say he was sleeping in his van with a space heater. It was plugged into an electrical outlet inside the house at 1404 Iris Lane. The heater malfunctioned and caught on fire.

The Marathon County sheriffs department is still investigating the incident.
