The Red Wings outshot the Ducks last night 47-to-30 but Detroit ended up losing at Anaheim 3-to-1. Detroit has dropped 8 of its last 11 games.
Pavel Datsyuk was the only Red Wing to solve Anaheim goalie Jonas Hiller, who stopped 46shots. Datsyuk scored with 10-seconds left in the second period for the final goal of the night. Hiller turned away all 16 shots he faced in the final 20 minutes to make the two-goal advantage stand up. Detroit fell to 1-1-1 on a five-game road trip that resumes Saturday in Los Angeles.
