EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WTAQ) - An Eau Claire County man accused of beating and strangling his girlfriend has pleaded not guilty to his homicide charge. The attorney for 44-year-old Greg Gubernot of Altoona also said he wanted a possible trial moved out of Eau Claire County because of heavy pre-trial publicity. Gubernot is accused of killing 43-year-old Theresa Still of Altoona. She was last seen 2 days after Christmas, and was missing for several days before her body was found in rural Adams County. Gubernot is still in jail under $1 million bond. The judge and attorneys in the case will meet next Friday to decide how the case will proceed. Hearings on pre-trial requests are now set for March 30th and May 27th. A one-week trial is scheduled to begin on June 7th.
