WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) Profits are up at Wausau Paper. The company says for the fourth quarter of 2009, it earned 14-cents per share. That's compared to 3-cents per share a year ago. It's the company's strongest financial performance since 1999.

The company also said it reduced its corporate debt by 74-million dollars in 2009, ending the year with a stronger balance sheet. The away-from-home towel and tissue unit had profits of 49-million.

Wausau Paper also announced the consolidation of their specialty product and printing and writing divisions was completed during the last year.
