WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – Parents and students looking for help with college funding can get help filling out the Free Application for Student Assistance or FAFSA at the Marathon County Public Library this morning.
The Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation will be on hand starting at 10:30 today to explain the FAFSA, what is included in the funding with the program and how to fill it out. Advising director Maria Bundy says now really is the best time to fill out the FAFSA, since so many families are already putting together their taxes, and the same information that goes in your tax return goes into the FAFSA as well.
Bundy says people should bring in their tax returns, their parents returns, and some legal identification like drivers licenses and social security numbers.
If students and families can't make the FAFSA event today, they can also get free help at College Goal Sunday this weekend. FAFSA experts will be available at Northcentral Technical College on Sunday at 2:00pm.
