(Woodland Hills, CA) -- Detroit area native and rock singer Doug Fieger lost a six-year battle with cancer when he died at his California home over the weekend. The 57-year-old Fieger started his first band as a junior high student in Oak Park and moved to Los Angeles, where he found fame as the founding vocalist of The Knack. He is survived by his brother, attorney and one-time Democratic gubernatorial nominee Geoffrey Fieger, and a sister Beth.
