WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) Eleven people are homeless after a fire yesterday morning on Wausau's east side. It happened around 8am on the 300 block of Chicago Avenue.

The fire started in the basement of the multi-family dwelling. A lamp overheated, and set a wall on fire. The flames spread to the main floor of the structure.

Two adults and three children were home at the time. They all made it out safely. The American Red Cross is helping the family relocate.
