WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – A 15-day license suspension begins today for a Wausau bar plagued by complaints about noise and rowdy behavior.
I.C. Willy’s cannot operate until January 18th as part of a deal its owner worked out with city leaders last week. In return, the city will not cite the bar for nudity that occurred during a November 14 taping of Girls Gone Wild. Nor will the police chief pursue a complaint that could start a formal revocation or suspension process.
Wausau police did not respond to any substantial calls for service, a lieutenant said Sunday.
Police have responded to 15 calls for service at the bar since October 1st, most of them noise related. Neighbors have complained that bass from the bar’s sound system reverberates in their home.
Owner Tom Nowell has promised to soundproof some doors and install noise deflectors. He’s also agreed to hold a neighborhood meeting at the police department in early February.
