STEVENS POINT, Wis (WSAU) The trial in the Kolbe & Kolbe truck driver murder case is being delayed again. It was scheduled to start next month, and is now on hold until the summer.
Suspect Michael Haydon asked for a new attorney last month. Yesterday, his lawyer asked to withdraw from the case, and the judge agreed. Haydon said he'd disagreed with his lawyer on legal strategy, and was waiting for additional D-N-A testing on evidence in his case.
The judge says a new trial date will be set when Haydon has a new lawyer.
He's accused of killing Kolbe & Kolbe truck driver Pat Zemke in 2006 in a case of mistaken identity. Haydon through the victim was having an affair with his ex-girlfriend -- when, in fact, the two had never met.
