WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – A Wausau City Council member arrested for fleeing police while driving drunk in October will go on trial today.
A jury of his peers will decide whether Tom Miller is guilty of the felony fleeing charge. The first drunken driving offense will be dealt with separately.
Miller failed to stop for police on Merrill Avenue as he drove home from a football party October 6th. Police arrested him in the driveway of his west-side home.
Miller, who will not seek re-election to a third Council term this spring, told police he had drank about six or seven beers while watching the Packers play the Minnesota Vikings.
If convicted, he faces up to three-and-a-half years in prison.
