WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – A Wausau City Council and Marathon County board member is resigning.
Jim Rosenberg will quit July 24th to accept a job as the policy and community relations director for Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton's office.
“It's been an interesting time and a lot has happened,” Rosenberg said. “I'm especially proud of the economic development things that we've accomplished,” pointing to the Thursday farmers market as his biggest accomplishment.
Rosenberg has also played a key role in creating the Concerts on the Square and helping the Central Wisconsin Airport expand.
Rosenberg was first elected to the Council in 1998 and to the board in 2002. He has won every election since then.
Rosenberg would not rule out the possibility of running for public office in Wausau again after Lawton leaves office at the end of the year.
