MADISON, Wis. (WTAQ) - An 18-year-old man has been ordered to stand trial for the murder of a 16-year-old from Fitchburg, just south of Madison.
At a preliminary hearing Wednesday, a Dane County judge ruled that a confession was enough to continue the case of Ke’Andre Frazier. He’s charged with homicide in the June 14th slaying of Lorenzo McKittrick in an alley behind a shopping center.
A Fitchburg police detective testified that the 2 got together – and a fight broke out after Frazier used McKittrick’s cell phone and refused to give it back. Police said the defendant knocked the victim to the ground and kept punching and stomping his head – and he ran off with the victim’s shoes.
The detective quoted Frazier as saying he didn’t want McKittrick to identify him later as his attacker. Frazier is being held under a $1 million bond. He’ll enter a plea at his next court appearance.
