WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – Central Wisconsin veterans can get a chance to meet with local businesses and VA reps at a Jobs and Benefits fair tomorrow morning.
Hosted at the National Guard Armory in Wausau, the fair will feature human resource reps from businesses looking to hire veterans. Veterans Affairs representative Gary Albrecht says you can meet with prospective employers, hand out your resume, and get a sense of what jobs are available to you. Albrecht says you should bring plenty of copies of that resume. There will also be reps on site performing interviews for employers and direct hire opportunities for those under VA disability.
You'll also be able to learn about changes to your benefits or what is available to vets these days. Albrecht says it's okay to ask too. “Some of these things change all the time, and someone could miss what's going on without help.”
Albrecht says you should also bring copies of your DD form 214 and your VA disability letter if applicable. It all gets started at 9 am at the Armory on the corner of 17th and Sherman Street.
