(Washington, DC) -- Persistance may be paying off for Michigan's congressional delegation and Detroit's Big Three automakers when it comes to a South Korean free trade deal. U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk said Monday his office is working on changes to the proposal which would satisfy the domestic automakers. At issue is the current version of the deal that lets Hyundai vehicles into the U.S. without tariffs on trucks, while very little would change to allow American vehicles to be sold in South Korea.
