WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – The Wausau school board has named five candidates it is considering as its next superintendent.
All five candidates are from the Upper Midwest. Three are from Wisconsin, one is from Michigan and the other is from Illinois.
They are:
Mr. James Feil – Former Superintendent, Traverse City Area Public Schools in MI
Mr. Joe Garza – Assistant Superintendent, School District of New Berlin in WI
Dr. Steve Patz – Superintendent, Franklin Public Schools in WI
Dr. Michael Richie – Superintendent, Northland Pines School District in WI
Dr. Kathleen Williams – Former Superintendent, East Maine School District #63 in IL
The board will interview the five in closed session on Wednesday and Thursday, then decide which ones will advance to a second round of interviews.
Board members hope to name a new superintendent August 9th. Whoever the board chooses will replace Steve Murley, who began as the superintendent in Iowa City, Iowa, on July 1st.
