Weston, Wi (WSAU) The Wausau Post 10 Bulldog baseball team earned a third staright trip to the American Legion State Tournament Monday night with an 8-4 win over Wisconsin Rapids in the Region 2 final at Mark Simon Field.
The Bulldogs jumped on top 8-0 before Rapids got on the board. Austin Priebe pitched the complete game win giving up 4 runs on 8 hits, strking out seven and walking one.
Tanner Blaschka went 5-5 with three RBI's to lead Post 10 and Mitch Howe had a triple & double. The Bulldogs scored 2 in the first, 2 in the second and 3 in the third and never looked back.
Wausau now heads to the AAA Legion State Tournament in Ashwaubenon starting Wednesday morning. They play at 10am against Oconomowoc.
The Marathon Legion team is also headed to State despite losing the A level regional title game to Black River Falls 8-7 at Nekoosa. Black River Falls is the State Tournament host so they are automatically in the field. Marathon will qualify as the second place team from that region They will play Ripon at 11 am on Wednesday.
