(Detroit, MI) -- Detroit City Council decided not to take action Tuesday on a resolution criticizing the new ABC drama "Detroit 1-8-7." Producers of the show invited to a public hearing opted not to attend. Councilman Kwame Kenyatta wants council to call on the network to change the name of the show, saying it casts Detroit in a negative light. The show is based on the work of homicide detectives and is being filmed locally. The police department is being consulted in the show's production. "Detroit 1-8-7" is scheduled to premiere on September 21st.
