BELOIT, Wis. (WTAQ) - A Beloit man will be sentenced September 10th, after reaching a plea deal in the murder of his girlfriend.
21-year-old Jeremy Leavy-Carter pleaded guilty to second-degree intentional homicide instead of first-degree homicide, which could have gotten him life in prison. A strangulation charge was also dropped. 19-year-old Darrelwar Tillman was killed last September.
Prosecutors said Leavy-Carter choked Tillman while she went after him with a knife. That was after the 2 got into a fight at the apartment they shared.
