LIMA (WTAQ) - Joran van der Sloot has reportedly confessed to the murder of 21-year-old Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramirez.
The Peruvian newspaper "La Republica" reports that van der Sloot broke down during an interrogation Monday afternoon and made an emotional confession. Van Der Sloot is reported to have said, "I didn't want to do it. The girl meddled in my private life."
The statement refers to Ramirez' alleged uninvited use of van der Sloot's computer. According to "La Repblica," van der Sloot stated that Ramirez, "took my laptop without my permission and became aware from photos and videos she saw there of my involvement in a murder in Aruba."
Van der Sloot was the prime suspect in the disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway at Arbua in 2005.
Police authorities indicate that during interrogation, van der Sloot was cornered and "had no other choice" but to confess as he watched video from security cameras in the Hotel TAC.
The cameras caught the pair as they arrived and entered his room and subsequently show van der Sloot leaving the room without her.
