MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - Two workers at Appleton Electric foundry in South Milwaukee were injured in an early morning explosion Saturday. The plant and several nearby homes were evacuated.
Fire officials report a dozen departments responded to the fire which involved several buildings. They say the situation was very dangerous because putting water in the wrong place at a foundry fire can cause another explosion.
Investigators say the blast happened during one of the company's routine processes. The condition of the 2 injured workers was not released.
