WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) A group of area Indian tribes want to build an Indian village in the Wausau School forest. The mini-village would be built by eleven indigenous tribes, and would be used to improve cultural education in the school district.

The group plans a trivial contest on July 18th to help raise money for the project. They need about 8-thousand dollars to build a learning hut and other structures. They hope to break ground in August, and have the project finished in time for the next school year.

The Wausau School District would partner with area tribes for instructors when students visit the school forest.
