The Red Wings last night didn’t look like a team fighting for a chance to stay in the hunt for a playoff berth as they lost 6-to-3 to Vancouver at Joe Louis Arena. After the game, Detroit coach Mike Babcock said "We were poor, we were poor in goal, poor in the back end, poor on the front line, with a poor work ethic.”
Detroit starting goalie Jimmy Howard was tagged for four goals on 21 shots while Chris Osgood finished the game by yielding two goals on 12 shots. Jason Williams, Henrik Zetterberg and Johan Franzen scored for the Red Wings. Tomorrow night, Detroit hosts Nashville.
Last night in the ECHL, the Kalamazoo Wings scored a 5-to-4 overtime shootout victory at Johnstown.
