MADISON, Wis. (WTAQ) - Madison Police say an overnight murder may have been drug-related. A 27-year-old man was shot about 2:30 a.m. Monday outside his apartment complex – and he died at a hospital around 4 a.m. Police spokesman Howard Payne said officers do not believe it was a random shooting – but they do not have anyone in custody. Residents said they heard a commotion and then a gunshot. An investigation continues. The victim’s name was not released as of early Monday afternoon.
