WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) The Wausau School Board gave a favorable evaluation to Superintendent Steven Murley last night.
The board gave Murley his annual job performance review. The report won’t become public until next week, because the superintendent has five days to review his evaluation and to make comments. School board members said after the closed door meeting that Murley was graded on a scale of 1-to-4 in eight areas. His review averaged above a ‘three’.
During last year’s contract dispute, the teachers union voted ‘no confidence’ in the superintendent. They criticized Murley for a school budget that depended on high teacher-retirement levels, and for lacking a long-range educational plan.
