WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) Unemployment in Central Wisconsin's two largest cities has risen above 10-percent. In Wausau, the jobless rate for January rose from 8.9 to 10.2-percent. In Stevens Point, it's up from 8.1 to 10.4-percent.
Unemployment was up in all 12 of Wisconsin’s metro areas and all 72 counties.
Marathon County's unemployment rate rose to 10-point-2 percent. It was 8-point-5 percent in Portage County. 10-point-3 percent in Wood County, and 12-point-5 percent in Lincoln County.
The Janesville metro, which includes Beloit, continues to have the highest unadjusted jobless rate at 12-point-eight percent. Madison is the lowest with six-point-three.
