MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) – The president of Good Samaritan Health Center in Merrill has resigned.
Michael Hammer quit after 18 years at the hospital to look for other jobs outside of Ministry Health Care, the system said in a statement released today.
The hospital’s patient care services vice president Kris McGarigle has been appointed to the job until a replacement is found.
The hospital has begun recruiting to hire a new president. That process could take nine months.
One of Hammer’s biggest accomplishments was overseeing the conversion of hospital affiliation from Catholic Health Corporation to Catholic Health Initiatives in 1996 and with Ministry Health Care in 2005.
