WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) It won't be cheap to find a new superintendent for the Wausau School District. A search committee says the cost of hiring an outside consultant to screen candidates will be at least 15-thousand dollars. The overall cost of the search may be closer to 30-thousand when the finalists' interview and travel expenses are included.

The school district still has to pick a consulting firm. The firm's job will be to present the school board with five finalists to replace Steve Murley, who's leaving for Iowa City on June 30th.

The school board will likely pick an interim superintendent until a permanent replacement is named.
