WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – There's a new man in charge of the State Patrol region that covers most of north central Wisconsin.

The State Patrol promoted Lieutenant Tim Carnahan to captain and made him the commander of the Patrol's 18-county north central region, effective May 9th. The region is headquartered in Wausau.

Carnahan has been the deputy commander of the Wausau post for the last 12 years and is a 21-year veteran of the State Patrol.

Carnahan lives in Kronenwetter with his wife and two daughters.

He replaces Captain Jeff Frenette, who was appointed to lead the northwest regional office in Eau Claire.
