MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WTAQ) - For the sixth year in a row, Milwaukee’s mayor attended several church services Sunday to call for an end to violence in Wisconsin’s largest city. Tom Barrett took part in what he calls the “Cease-fire Sabbath.”
He says many people are more confident in their churches than in government – and therefore, he called on church leaders and parishioners to encourage those engaged in violence to stop. Barrett hoped a relative of a violent criminal might have heard his message in church.
