WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – Unemployment fell sharply in the Wausau metro area in April.
The jobless rate fell from 10.6 percent in March to 9 percent last month. The unemployment rate also fell in the 11 other metro areas in Wisconsin as employers added jobs on both a seasonally adjusted and non seasonally adjusted basis.
The statewide unemployment rate also fell in April. It was down from 8.8 percent in March to 8.5 percent last month.
Janesville had the highest local jobless rate at 11 percent. Madison had the lowest at 5.7 percent.
