LA CROSSE COUNTY, Wis. (WTAQ) - With an apparent killer still on the loose, authorities continue to say very little about the slayings of an elderly couple in La Crosse County. 17 state and local investigators are digging up evidence connected to the deaths of 68-year-old Dennis Koula and his 65-year-old wife Myrna. Their bodies were found in their home in the town of Barre on Monday.
La Crosse County Sheriff Steve Helgeson says they’re trying to determine a suspect. And he said state investigators were afraid their case would be ruined if too many details got out before an arrest. Officers have not said how the Koulas were murdered. Dennis Koula’s brother Leroy tells the La Crosse Tribune that investigators left him with the impression that the 2 were shot.
