MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) – A Green Bay man has been convicted of breaking into a Merrill gun store in May 2008.
Chris Gentlinger pled no contest Monday to armed burglary. Prosecutors dropped three other charges, including criminal damage to property, theft, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Court officials will schedule Gentlinger's sentencing date November 18th. The armed burglary charge carries a maximum 15-year sentence.
Lincoln County sheriff's deputies arrested Gentliner and Vance Dalton May 25, 2008, after the two triggered an alarm at Cimino's Gun and Archery. Gentlinger surrendered after multiple commands to leave the building. A police canine found Dalton hiding in an air duct above a drop ceiling.
Dalton has already been sentenced to three years in prison and five years on extended supervision.
