CLINTONVILLE, Wis. (WTAQ) - Officials say a 50-year-old De Pere man was attempting to land his plane at Clintonville Municipal Airport when he collided with a deer.

It happened Saturday just before 5 p.m. Officials say the pilot tried to stop the landing when he noticed the deer, but couldn't.

He was able to fly the plane back to Austin Straubel Airport, but there was some damage to the right side of the Cessna 210.

Authorities say they found the deer carcass later on the runway in Clintonville.
