(Detroit, MI)  --  The Pistons confirmed yesterday Mike Ilitch, who already owns the Red Wings and the Tigers, is seeking to buy the NBA franchise.  Pistons owner Karen Davidson has given Ilitch's family a 30-day window to make a bid for both the team and its parent company, Palace Sports & Entertainment.  Ilitch has said if he owned the Pistons it would give him better leverage to build a new downtown arena for both them and the Red Wings.  "Forbes" magazine estimates the wealth of the Ilitch family at 1.7 billion dollars.
