CHICAGO (Reuters) - The injury-hit Green Bay Packers got a welcome boost on Friday when quarterback Aaron Rodgers was listed as a probable starter for Sunday's home game against the Miami Dolphins.

Rodgers suffered a concussion after being hit late in a 16-13 loss at the Washington Redskins last week but has since been medically cleared to return.

The quarterback went through a full workout with the team on Friday after a limited training session the previous day.

"From my perspective, I would say he's ready to go," Packers head coach Mike McCarthy told reporters on Friday.

"But ultimately, it's a medical decision. Unless there's any type of setback between now and the game, I anticipate Aaron to play on Sunday."

New NFL regulations on concussions required Rodgers to go through an independent doctor's visit before he was given the green light to play again in the league.

"My understanding is he's passed all the tests," McCarthy said.

While Rogers was poised to return to Green Bay's starting line-up, the Packers will have to make do without linebacker Brandon Chillar (shoulder) on Sunday.

Linebacker Clay Matthews (hamstring) and right tackle Mark Tauscher (shoulder) were listed as doubtful with defensive ends Mike Neal and Ryan Pickett listed as questionable.

The Packers are 3-2 in the NFC North behind the 4-1 Chicago Bears.
