UNDATED (WSAU) A class-action lawsuit has been filed against two egg companies involved in a recent salmonella outbreak that made almost two dozen Wisconsinites sick. The lawsuit was filed in federal court in Chicago by a half-dozen people who got sick after eating eggs produced at Hillandale Farms and the Wright County Egg company.
Both firms are from Iowa, and the suit said they were negligent in not making eggs safe for human consumption. Wisconsin had 21 cases tied to the outbreak – all stemming from a Kenosha restaurant in mid-June. Over 15-hundred people got sick nationally, but the lawsuit says the actual number could be much higher.
The defendants have not commented on the new lawsuit.
