MINOCQUA, Wis (WSAU) The FAA reports two people died in the crash of a twin-engine plane near Minocqua on Thursday.
The Civil Air Patrol and state DNR rangers helped with the search for the plane which was reported missing Thursday night. It was coming from Aurora, Illinois and was scheduled to land at the airport in Arbor Vitae. The plane was lost from radar around 9PM. The wreckage was found around 11:20PM in a heavily wooded area 5 miles north of the airport and the bodies of the two victims had been thrown from the plane into the Trout River.
The Cause of the crash is being investigated and the names of the victims are being withheld pending notification relatives.
