WAUSAU, Wis. (WSAU) – The Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce has hired Jeff Zriny as its executive director.
Zriny had been the interim executive director since September. He took over after Roger Luce abruptly left the business organization in mid-August.
The chamber issued a statement in mid-November that said it and Luce had mutually agreed to end their relationship after 25 years for reasons they would not make public.
Zriny will coordinate the chamber's organizational activities, including business advocacy, economic development, membership, programs and marketing.
“Jeff is a proven, strategic leader who is skilled at moobilizing a team and connecting with the members,” said Chamber board president Hooshang Zeyghami.
“My interim role over the past months has been a great learning experience and has provided me with a tremendous foundation from which to build a vision for this organization,” Zriny said.
Before joining the chamber leadership, Zriny was the director of operations for Security Health Plan. He's also held different executive positions with Wausau Insurance.
